Donna Elliot

Donna Elliot is a photographer, digital artist, wearable art and mixed media artist who was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been living in Idyllwild, California since 2011, though she discovered rock climbing there in the early 1970s. Donna has been looking through the lens of a camera since her teenage years. As a world traveler, she captured the sights and colors of the world. She discovered mixed media and other art mediums after retirement in 2007. Having discovered the creative freedom of digital art, Donna focuses on gentle, ethereal, romantic images resonant of the Victorian Pre-Raphaelite movement. Seamless blending of up to 20 or more images combine to move the eye through a series of unexpected vistas creating a perfect universe and a view into the soul. Inspired by Nature, Donna also creates vibrant alcohol ink paintings, each one unique. She designs and fashions elegant felted and nuno-felted scarves from high quality materials. Donna has two recent passions: portrait photography and astrophotography. Her portraits aim to showcase the beauty, personality and character of her models. She particularly loves the serene moments of the night while capturing the colors and brilliance of the Milky Way or Aurora Borealis.

Donna is also intricately involved with the Art Alliance of Idyllwild. She served as President from 2015 until 2020 and now is the Marketing and Event Chair, as well as the Grant Administrator.
